AUDIOMETRY

Purpose of the Program:

Knowing and using scientific methods for the diagnosis of hearing loss and balance disorder, applying hearing and balance tests, working in the field of hearing and hearing disorders, evaluation of hearing, rehabilitation of hearing and speech disorders, following current developments in the field, developing self-improvement, having verbal communication skills, new to train qualified health technicians who have the ability to apply technological developments competently.


Required Qualifications:
Students who want to enter this program should train themselves well in physics, physiology, anatomy, pathology, especially otolaryngology. Audiology requires a determined and meticulous work, as it is a young and rapidly developing branch and the subject concerns human health.


Training Period and Content:
Education period is 2 years. Applications from all high school types can be made to the program. Placement is made according to the results of the YKS. Hearing and balance tests, which are thought to be necessary for the diagnosis of hearing and balance disorders patients, and the way the hearing aids and cochlear implants work, and their adaptation form an important part of the audiometry training. In addition, the education of hearing-impaired children is also important in audiometrist training. This training, which is conducted to train audiometers with the necessary test knowledge and skills in the field of hearing and balance disorders of the private and public health sectors, aims to gain the ability to communicate effectively, work in a team, to recognize and solve problems as well as professional knowledge and skills. Audiometrists learn the communicative, psychological approach and test techniques required in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with hearing loss and balance disorder with theoretical and then applied courses. In addition to the basic courses in this program, such as Hearing and Measurement, Clinical Practice and Advanced Test Methods, Hearing and Speech Anatomy and Physiology, Hearing Losses, Vestibular System and Tests, Sound Physics and Acoustic Principles, Principles of Audiology, Child and Newborn Tests, Behavioral Test Methods. lessons are taught.

Audiometry graduates can work in the audiology clinics of public or private hospitals, hearing impaired schools and hearing aid companies under the supervision and supervision of an audiologist or otolaryngologist.
