Guideline

Social Studies Education Department was established in order to train Social Studies Teacher by restructuring the education faculties. Our department offers 4 year undergraduate education. Students are admitted to our department according to LYS TS-1 score made by ÖSYM. The student quota in our Department is 93. Most of our graduated students are employed as teachers in primary schools, private schools and private educaiton foundations under the Ministry of National Education. In our department, the “master” program is carried out in cooperation with Atatürk University/Institute of Educational Sciences and Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University/Institute of Social Sciences. Our students are offered the opportunity to exchange students within the scope of ERASMUS, FARABİ.

Mission

To provide the necessary infrastructure for social studies education and training, to closely monitor all innovations in the field, to raise teacher candidates who know the methods and techniques related to social studies teaching very well, are inquisitive, researcher and have strong communication skills and can transfer these talents to students. our country to be at the highest level among developed countries; respectful of democratic, social and ethical values; sensitive to environmental, country and world problems; closely following science and technology; conscious of educating new generations; can renew itself according to the requirements of the age; open to change and development; perceives science as a way of life; To educate academicians and social studies teachers who have high self-confidence and acquire international accumulation and to pioneer in this field, to train social studies teachers loyal to Ataturk Principles and general objectives of Turkish National Education.

By providing a qualified education related to Social Studies education and training. To train social studies teachers and academicians who are open to innovations and who use information Technologies. To cooperate and communicate with all institutions that can contribute to the professional development of Social Studies teacher candidates. For daptation of our country and humanity to the requirements of time and make our country one of the leaders in science and technology and to train Social Studies teachers who can meet the needs of future generations and to be the most successful institutions in Turkey and the geography which it takes place.
