MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION AND SECRETARY

Purpose of the Program:

The purpose of the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Associate Degree Program is to train qualified human resources that are foundational to the basic principles, processes and management of health services and that communicate effectively.


Required Qualifications:
Medical Documentation and Secretariat in private and public institutions and organizations; organizing the patient's appointment services, performing the acceptance procedures, informing the patient about the functioning of the institution and medical services, keeping the patient's records, conducting the communication and correspondence services in the administrative and medical units, archiving and presenting patient files and other documents and reports required with scientific methods, -To carry out the classification and coding processes according to the international classification systems whose processes and health problems are determined, to compile the data related to medical statistics and to analyze them with scientific methods and to report the results to the concerned periodically.


Training Period and Content:
Education period is 2 years. Applications from all high school types can be made to the program. Placement is made according to the results of the YKS. During the education, students; Health Services Management takes courses such as Diction and Effective Speaking, Medical Documentation, Medical Terminology, Health Information Systems, Medical Secretarial Techniques, Medical Correspondence Techniques, Keyboard Techniques, and Public Relations theoretically and / or practically.


Job Opportunities After Graduation:
Graduates who have successfully completed the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Associate Degree Program work in medical units such as clinic, polyclinic, laboratory, operating room, emergency room of private and public health institutions. In addition, they work in administrative units such as the health committee, patient admission, and patient files archive. Due to its increasing importance and efficiency, it has a wide range of job opportunities and has the opportunity to work in all areas of the health sector. In addition to various units of private and public health institutions; Bedside treatment institutions, private health clinics, provincial health directorates, medical research e-publishing companies, medical equipment companies, dispensaries, imaging centers and doctor's offices are also among the employment areas of graduates.


Opportunities for Progress in the Profession:
If students successfully complete this program and graduate, they can continue their undergraduate studies in the following undergraduate programs by entering the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) to be held by OSYM;
