English Drama Club was founded on 9 May 2024 by the English Language and Literature Department students, Club President İlknur İŞLER under the supervision of Dr. Nağme ARAS. The primary purpose of this club is to provide an effective and enjoyable language learning experience through artistic activities such as theatre, drama, singing, and musicals, for both the department's students and anyone interested in learning English.

Through activities such as script reading, role-playing, and participating in theatre performances; students have the opportunity to use the language in natural and meaningful contexts. This, in turn, allows them to improve their speaking, listening, and pronunciation skills. Additionally, this club aims to promote intercultural awareness by introducing participants to various genres of theatre. Through classical and contemporary English-language plays, students have the opportunity to explore different cultural perspectives, historical contexts, and literary traditions. So, this process contributes to the development of a deeper understanding and aesthetic appreciation of English-speaking cultures and the performing arts.

 From a social perspective, this club provides a shared platform that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. Students have the opportunity to express themselves confidently through artistic expression and to enhance their ability to use English effectively in front of others. Moreover, the process of preparing and staging theatre plays contributes to the development of various social skills, such as time management, problem-solving, and leadership.
