BIOMEDICAL DEVICE TECHNOLOGY

The Aim Of The Program: 

The aim of the biomedical device technology program is to train technical intermediaries to work in the fields of assembly, usage, calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments and devices used in medicine and biological sciences. In addition, it is to gain sufficient knowledge and skills about electronic infrastructure and the basic principles of devices used for diagnosis and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

People who want to be biomedical device technicians should be successful in the field of science, have an interest in tools and machines, have hand and eye coordination, can use their hands skillfully, have good vision and hearing organs, perceive mechanical and shape relations, perform maintenance, repair and service of devices, be careful and calm, people who like to help people and have communication skills.

Education Period and Content:

The education period is 2 years and the language of education is Turkish. During the training, theoretical and practical information is given considering the qualifications required for this job. Course contents of biomedical device technology program include information that can be used at all levels of working life. The curriculum of this program has a rich content with courses describing biomedical technology, medical imaging systems, basic electrical and electronic and medical devices.

Job Opportunities After Graduation:

The graduates of biomedical device technology program are awarded the title of "Biomedical Device Technician". Biomedical device technicians have the opportunity to work in public and private hospitals, laboratories, dispensaries, factories that produce medical devices, companies that manufacture or sell medical devices, repair and maintenance workshops or services of medical devices, and institutions that provide medical device maintenance and calibration services.

If students who successfully graduate this associate degree program are successful in the vertical transfer exam (DGS) held by OSYM, they can continue their education in the following undergraduate programs of universities;
