Water Management
Our university has implemented various practices on the sustainable management of water and aimed to save water in this direction. Efficient management of rainwater in our university will reduce the amount of mains water used for irrigation and similar needs. In the Central campus of our university, there are two rainwater storage areas with a total floor area of 13.000 m2 and a capacity of 23.400 m3, two of which are 10,000 and 3,000 m2. These water areas are used to irrigate grass fields and plants between June and September with automatic irrigation systems. While grass fields and planted plants are irrigated with the sprinkler irrigation system, the plants planted in some parts of our university are also irrigated with the drip irrigation system. Apart from this, water-saving devices such as automatic hand washing taps are used in certain campuses of our university.
Waste Management
In addition to the administrative and academic buildings, there are also cultural and social buildings and living spaces (guest houses and lodgings) within the campus of our university. This situation causes waste to be produced within the campus. While some of these wastes are recyclable, some of them can be harmful to the environment and human health if they are not collected and processed correctly. Within the scope of the university's waste recycling program, plastic, glass and paper wastes are collected separately in recycling bins located on campus. Like all wastes in our university, these wastes are also taken by authorized companies.
Within the scope of the program to reduce paper and plastic consumption on campus;
-
We suggest the use of the reverse side of the draft papers.
-
We are trying to calculate the annual paper consumption rates of the units and take measures for the next year.
-
Paper consumption is regularly reduced with the electronic document management system.
-
Throwing plastic packaging by squeezing it into the waste bin
-
We strive to raise awareness of employees about the harms of plastic use.
Energy Management
Renewable energy is energy sources such as hydraulic, wind, solar, geothermal, biomass, biogas, wave, hydrogen, which can be obtained on earth and in nature without the need for any production process, non-fossil source (coal, oil and carbon derivative), carbon dioxide emission is at a low level while electrical energy is produced, environmental damage and impact is much lower than conventional energy sources, is constantly renewed and is ready to be used in nature.
Our university has an active solar energy system from renewable energy sources.
