Faculty of Pharmacy

About The Faculty

Our Faculty was established under the auspices of Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University Rectorate, pursuant to Article 30 (additional) of Law No. 2808 dated 28/03/1983, by the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 17/01/2011. It admitted its first cohort of students in the 2013–2014 academic year.
Our mission is to educate competent and well-equipped pharmacists through a curriculum aligned with the demands of the information age. Pharmacy education must be supported by up-to-date laboratory practices and enriched with current scientific and technological advancements. Accordingly, our program offers a strong professional education reinforced with theoretical and practical components.
The curriculum is designed to cover both the emerging clinical role of the pharmacy profession and foundational training in pharmaceutical technology. It consists of compulsory and elective theoretical courses, as well as laboratory work and internships. In addition to theoretical instruction, students receive hands-on training in clinical pharmacy. Practical education is a central element of our program, and students complete internships in community pharmacies, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies. Recognizing the interpersonal nature of the pharmacy profession, our curriculum also includes English language courses, advanced computer skills, and various cultural subjects. Graduates are equipped with the qualifications necessary to pursue postgraduate education and make valuable contributions to their field.
Graduates of our Faculty of Pharmacy have the opportunity to practice their profession across a wide range of fields. Community pharmacies and clinical laboratories in healthcare institutions are among the most preferred career paths. In these and similar settings, pharmacists serve as consultants on medication use, playing a crucial role in treatment and preventive care. Pharmacists can also work in the production, quality control, and marketing departments of the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, as well as in drug and food control units. They are actively employed in the production and distribution of medical products, and also in pharmaceutical warehouses, quality control laboratories, and medical offices. Furthermore, they can work in the production and marketing of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products derived from chemical or herbal sources.
Our faculty building covers a total indoor area of 6,270 m² and includes 3 amphitheaters, 7 classrooms, 3 student laboratories, 3 research laboratories, 1 microscopy laboratory, 1 computer laboratory, 1 conference hall, and 1 meeting room. In addition, the faculty houses a Practice Pharmacy, as well as First Aid and Anatomy classrooms.
Our library has a capacity to serve 150 students simultaneously, and our hygienic cafeteria provides services in compliance with the Ministry of Health’s food regulations.
