AĞRI İBRAHIM ÇEÇEN UNIVERSITY

The foundations of Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University were laid as Ağrı Girls' Primary Teacher Training School, which was established in the 1967-1968 academic year under the Ministry of National Education, and continued its teacher training function by transforming into a two-year Education Institute as of the 1977-1978 academic year.

With the Law No. 2809 on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions enacted on June 30, 1982, Ağrı School of Education was affiliated to Atatürk University Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education.

With the law dated July 3, 1992 and numbered 3837, Ağrı School of Education was transformed into Ağrı Faculty of Education and continued to provide undergraduate education for primary education until 2007 under the Rectorate of Atatürk University.

The School of Health was established with the Decree of the Council of Ministers dated 10.10.1996 and numbered 8655 published in the Official Gazette dated 2.11.1996 and with the cooperation protocol dated 22.11.1996 signed between the Ministry of Health and YÖK. It started education in the 2003-2004 academic year by taking its first students under the Rectorate of Atatürk University.

The name of our University, which was established as Ağrı Mountain University with the Additional-73rd article of the law dated 17.05.2007 and numbered 5662, was changed to Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University with the law numbered 5773 and entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette dated 28.06.2008 and numbered 26920.
