Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University
The foundations of
Ağri İbrahim Çeçen University were dated back to School of Ağrı Girls' First
Teacher Training, which was established under the Ministry of National Education
in the 1967-1968 academic year, and maintained its function to train teachers
by being transformed into a two-year Education Institute since the 1977-1978
academic year.
With the Law No.
2809 on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions, which was enacted on
30 June 1982, it joined Faculty of Kazım Karabekir Education of Atatürk
University as Ağrı Education School.
With the Law No.
3837 dated July 3, 1992, Ağrı Education School was converted to Ağrı Education
Faculty and continued to provide education at the undergraduate level for
primary education until 2007, under the Rectorate of Atatürk University.
The School of
Health was established with the Council of Ministers decision dated 10.10.1996
and numbered 8655 and published in the T.C. Resmi Gazete dated 2.11.1996 and
with the cooperation protocol dated 22.11.1996 signed between the Ministry of
Health and YÖK (Council of Higher Education). Depending on the Rectorate of
Atatürk University, it admitted its first students in the 2003-2004 academic
year.
The name of our
University, which was established as Mount Ararat University with Annex-73 of
the Law No. 5662 dated 17.05.2007, was changed as Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University
with the Law No. 5773 and entered into force by being published in T.C. Resmi
Gazete dated 28.06.2008 and numbered 26920.
